Discover the Journey: From Rough Sketch to Stunning Custom Ring

Ever wondered what goes into creating a custom ring? Let me take you behind the scenes of turning a dream design into a wearable reality.

It all started with a message from Madison, filled with excitement and a sketch of her dream ring. As a jewelry designer, these moments fuel my creativity—the chance to bring someone's vision to life.

Madison's sketch depicted a captivating ring featuring baguettes encircling an emerald-cut mainstone. In fact, she provided two sketches, each with slight variations. Here the another one:

With her drawings in hand, I knew exactly what she envisioned, and I was committed to making it a reality. Madison wanted baguette-cut stones encircling the main stone, but their length posed a challenge for daily wear and balance. She also aimed to ensure space for a wedding band, adding complexity to the design process. Balancing aesthetics with practicality required careful consideration.

To address these challenges, I explored various design options, all aimed at preserving Madison's unique vision while ensuring the stones are securely set for durability, guaranteeing the ring lasts a lifetime. Three distinct designs were crafted, with numerous adjustments made to achieve the desired outcome.

r/EngagementRings - The first one!

In the initial design, the length of the baguette didn't balance well with the main stone, so I suggested changing the main stone to an Asscher cut for better balance. However, since Madison preferred the emerald cut, we worked on adjustments to achieve the desired vision.

The second approach involved strategically interspersing round stones between the baguettes to enhance stability and balance in the design. While this option was ideal for daily wear, the customer preferred a slightly bolder look and opted for longer baguettes

I lengthened the baguettes to create a more dramatic effect, adding tension and making the ring truly unique.

So, this is the final design we settled onI lengthened the baguettes to create a more dramatic effect, adding tension and making the ring truly unique.

And Madison said yes! 🎉

I even had a feeling she would prefer the more unique option before confirming. Throughout the design process, we had numerous discussions, and I feel like I got to know my customer even better. I genuinely believe the ring perfectly reflects her life attitude and personal traits.

The design process takes some time. After confirmation, it took us about 12 days to finish the ring and safely send it to her. Here's how beautiful Madison looks wearing the ring!

I read her review about 20 times lol

This is our process for working with customers who have a specific vision for their engagement ring. While the steps may vary for each individual, understanding how it works is key if you're considering a custom ring.
